Dean's Message
For nearly 100 years, Ivey’s reputation has set a standard respected in Canada and around the world. We take pride in our legacy. But we know we must evolve and adapt. Ivey Next, our new Strategic Plan, answers that challenge.
Prior to the pandemic, business education was already experiencing disruptive market, social, and technological forces. COVID-19 added to this disruption and highlighted critical workforce issues that are further shaping the future of business. At the same time, there was increased attention and dialogue around critical social issues like climate change and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). This unsettling time collided with our strategic planning process. It prompted us to reflect on the role of business schools, and Ivey in particular, in creating a better world.

PURPOSE
Inspiring leaders for a sustainable and prosperous world
MISSION
We develop leaders who think globally, act strategically, and address critical issues facing organizations and society, through impactful research and transformative learning experiences
Mission:
Addressing Critical issues
As a core part of Ivey’s renewed mission, we will “address critical issues facing organizations and society.” We want to be thought leaders – the place where academics, business, and governments come to understand and address these issues. To do this, we aim to foster a community where everyone is empowered to research and engage on important issues in the world, inspired by their interests and ambitions.
Additionally, we will identify focus areas where Ivey can drive a critical mass of focus and activity to be a main contributor. These areas will be at the intersection of Ivey faculty interest, boardroom agenda issues, and societal issues. For our initial areas of focus, we have identified three Critical Issues, which are important to business and society, and where Ivey already has some established strength, due to prominence in our existing faculty portfolio and related work by our Research Centres and Institutes.
