Sarah Abell graduated from the HBA program at Ivey, and went on to graduate with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University. As well as the main Advisory Council, Sarah sits on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Building Sustainable Value, at Ivey.
She has a background in finance at JP Morgan, management consulting at Bain & Co, and education: she is the founder and ex-Chair of Westside School, a small school model for excluded young people ages 11 to 16 years in London, UK. She also founded The Oxford Youth Lab, an organization to enable multi stakeholder practitioners and academics to come together in order to understand the complexity of current youth issues.
Ms. Abell has an additional university degree in Psychology from Hong Kong University.
She sat on the board of the Solutions Lab at MaRS in Toronto, was governor at University of Toronto Schools (UTS), Wellington Academy in Tidworth, UK, board member at Sadler’s Wells in London, UK, and chair of Breakdancing GB. She currently sits on the boards of various small foundations in the UK and Canada, including London Interdisciplinary School, a new type of university, and the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET) in NYC, and the board of Alpine Canada (ACA). Sarah has a strong commitment to Regenerative Agriculture, with a focus on soil improvement.
