What is the HR Summit?
Facing today’s complexity, how do you make decisions? COVID vs. post-COVID, virtual vs. in-person, immediate vs. long term, for the masses vs. the marginalized? It seems that setting priorities and making trade-offs in 2020 can feel insurmountable.
We invite you to join us and senior HR leaders from across Canada on December 1-3, 2020, for our inaugural HR summit. Each day features one 90-minute immersive and interactive session, led by one of The Ivey Academy’s Faculty Directors: Martha Maznevski, Tony Frost, and David Loree. Responses to challenges today are complex in nature and require you to reach outside of your organization; the aim of our summit is to energize you in a network of senior HR leaders to amplify actions and effects.
You’ll interact with fellow HR leaders in breakouts, creating an insightful learning experience. Keep in mind — this is not a webinar and there are no presentations. Going beyond mainstream ideas, you will deliberate new approaches with other leading organizations from across Canada.
All participants will receive a digital credential and certificate from Ivey, as well as exclusive access to a collection of resources and shareable content produced during the event. Complete the registration form to apply today.
Day 1: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Featuring Martha Maznevski
Through our research, EDI emerges as a consistent and critical theme for organizations in all industries and sectors. Yet institutionalized "training" and "programming" on this topic seems to have too little impact — while growing numbers of employees and customers demand transparency and accountability. Our day one discussion will challenge participants to ideate radically new approaches for long-standing issues around bias and respect in the workplace.
Day 2: From Staying Afloat to Charting a Course
Featuring Tony Frost
2020 has set off a foundational shift in our work habits. Remote options that once offered flexibility now present serious challenges for wellness and organizational culture. At any given time, leaders are forced to balance those concerns with day-to-day decision-making, as well as setting long-term strategic goals. Our day two session focuses on engaging with the realities of COVID, from operational changes and hybrid work to talent management and employee well-being.
Day 3: Re-Humanizing the Workplace
Featuring David Loree
Being physically separated has affected everyone. Families, friends, and colleagues are all finding new ways to create a shared sense of humanity, but it isn't easy — part of being human is sharing experiences together. For organizations, re-humanizing the workplace is even more complex. On day three we'll deep-dive on teams and trust; discussing wellness, emotional intelligence, and psychological safety in the world of remote work.
