Arundhati Ganesh, AMBA '25, Senior Associate, Global Airports & Venues at Uber, on broadening her perspective and making new connections

Arundhati Ganesh, AMBA '25, was looking to expand her network and gain perspectives from a variety of industries when she joined Ivey’s Accelerated MBA.

“Having spent the majority of my full-time career post-grad at one company, I felt like most of my experience and connections were within the tech space,” says Ganesh, Senior Associate, Global Airports & Venues at Uber.

“This felt like an opportunity to make new connections and a way to see what new challenges could arise with the skills that I'd develop through this MBA.”

Once at Ivey, Ganesh found her classmates’ diverse backgrounds and varying perspectives eye-opening.

“I think the school has done a great job of finding people that are very diverse, and at different stages in their career,” she says.

“But we share the same level of excitement, and it’s clear that everyone is here to get the most that they can from the experience.”

The faculty has also been a highlight, she adds, given the depth of experience they have to share.

“They've had experience working all over the world in different industries, different cultures, and the fact that they have chosen to go back to academia and share their knowledge and experience is so inspiring to me,” Ganesh says.

“The way that they teach, you can tell that it is such a passion of theirs and I feel it's an MBA level of teaching. These professors put so much effort into keeping you engaged and making sure that the classes provide you with the value that you're looking for; it's been enriching, and fulfilling, and it's something that I'm very glad I was able to have access to.”

She has particularly enjoyed the leadership courses – and immediately began applying much of what’s she’s learned at work.

For Ganesh, balancing a full-time job and the AMBA has worked well because of the way the program is structured.

“The way that the AMBA is designed makes it doable,” she says.

“Of course, you must be able to prioritize and set boundaries for yourself. There are going to be events that you have to miss, but it's a year and it flies by. I appreciated the honesty (out of the Ivey team) from the get-go because I knew it would be challenging and I could speak with my family and my work, so everyone knew what was happening, which allowed them to support me the way that I needed.”

Ganesh says she’d encourage anyone interested in doing an MBA to join the program – and in fact, a close friend has already joined the following cohort.

“It's an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
