Alex Chen

Alex is a 2019 graduate of the Master of Financial Economics (MFE) program with distinction and holds an Honors Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto. His group was awarded the Robotti & Company Advisors LLC prize for the best stock recommendation which received the highest recognition by the Fund’s Advisory Board. Alex currently works in the Private Investment Valuations team at Fiera Capital, and previously at the Financial Risk Department at the Bank of Canada. In his spare time, he manages his personal portfolio using value investing principles, enjoys travelling and playing basketball.
Shaunak Jindal

Shaunak is a graduate of the MBA Class of 2020. Prior to Ivey, Shaunak has gained experience as a consultant with KPMG and an entrepreneur. At KPMG, he undertook variety of consulting engagements, specializing in process optimization cases across healthcare and e-commerce industry. As an entrepreneur he co-founded two projects namely Bohéme (a multi-cuisine restaurant brand) and Zen (social enterprise to educate and provide health and hygiene resources to youth). Shaunak has been actively investing in Indian Stock Exchange since 2018 and is passionate about following the principles of value investing throughout his own investing endeavours.

Greg is a graduate of the Ivey HBA 2019 class. Greg also completed BA (Honors) in economics program at Western University in 2019, receiving Mark K. Inman essay prize and the highest core course average award. Greg has completed a two-year military service in South Korea in 2017, during which he completed and passed all USCPA exams. Upon returning to complete the remaining two years in the program, Greg passed CFA Level 1 in December 2017 and CFA Level 2 in June 2019. Greg is passionate about pursuing a career in value investing and currently completing his internship at Ewing Morris & Co. Investment Partners.
Duncan McRae

Duncan is a graduate of the 2018 Ivey HBA program and the Stacey Muirhead Capital Management Award recipient. Duncan is currently working as an Financial Planning Analyst at PepsiCo. Prior to entering Ivey, Duncan studied economics, and his hobbies include playing soccer, coaching soccer and golf. Duncan actively applies the value investing principles to his personal portfolio and continues to advance his skills through collaborative projects.
Robert Wang
Prior to completing his HBA at Ivey, Robert was a summer analyst on the M&A team at Great Wall Securities where he developed expertise in data aggregation, valuations, and financial modeling. He worked on a deal for a major retail company from initial due diligence to final CIM preparation. His responsibilities included analyzing financial statements, conducting market research, and projecting future cash flows. Robert speaks fluent Mandarin and is currently pursuing CFA level 1.
David Zhang
David is a 2016 Ivey HBA graduate currently working in the public policy space with a focus on improving the competitiveness of Canadian manufacturing, public policy consulting, and bridging the gaps between corporations and government. Despite his interests spanning the private, public, and non-profit sectors, David’s experience working as a private equity analyst in Beijing and as a former student of Professor George Athanassakos continues to anchor his passion for investing.
Janek Boski
Janek is a graduate of the HBA program. He is currently an investment analyst at Anson Funds, a long/short, value-based hedge fund, with offices in Toronto and Dallas. Janek previously worked in corporate M&A in the TMT sector as well as in investment banking. Janek remains a passionate value investor in both a professional and personal capacity, with George Athanassakos playing a key role in his interest and development.
Jack Brown
Jack is in his final year of the JD/MBA combined program at Ivey. He holds an undergraduate degree in philosophy. Before coming to Ivey, Jack worked in politics in British Columbia. He has a passion for good espresso, classical realist painting, and Japanese pro-wrestling. He lives in London with his wife and his Shetland sheepdog.
Ty Collin
Ty graduated from the Ivey HBA program in 2016 with distinction and became a CPA in 2019. He currently works in the Private Investment Valuations team at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), where he is also working towards his CFA designation. Ty previously served as a Fellow of the Ivey Value Fund from 2016 to 2018, after the Fund selected his team’s stock pitch for purchase. Ty remains passionate about value investing; he has published investment research on Seeking Alpha and manages his personal portfolio using value principles. He is also an avid reader, cyclist, and former competitive hockey player.
Chris Cunningham
Chris is a 2011 graduate of the HBA program. Prior to completing the HBA program, he worked at Merrill Lynch in wealth management in New York City and investment banking in Toronto. Following graduation, he spent four years in the private equity group at CPP Investment Board. Currently, Chris is responsible for managing a private investment partnership and acts as a consultant to the real estate industry. He was one of three recipients of the Stacey Muirhead award, demonstrating exceptional promise in understanding and applying value investing principles, and his group won the Fairfax Financial award. During his four years at university, Chris was also an active member of the Western Investment Club ("WIC"), becoming President in his final year.
Anthony Di Ginosa
Prior to completing his MBA at Ivey, Anthony worked as part of a team which oversaw the investment of the pension and endowment assets at Queen’s University. Anthony earned his Honours BA in Economics from Queen’s University and is currently working towards completing the final exam required for the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Anthony has experience in portfolio management, cash flow forecasting, risk and performance reporting, investment manager selection, and the use of derivatives for hedging purposes.
Prabhjeev Gambhir
Prabhjeev graduated from the HBA program in 2017 and was a member of the Dean’s Honor List. Passionate about entrepreneurship from a very young age, Prabhjeev decided to start his own business after graduating. He is the co-founder of Homeshares, a real estate tech startup introducing home equity sharing in Canada. With a deep appreciation for value investing principles, Prabhjeev strives to build a company that creates true value for shareholders.
Chris Goulakos
Before returning to Ivey to complete his MBA, Chris Goulakos was an analyst on a High Net-Worth Investment Advisory Team at CIBC Wood Gundy. A devout follower of the Value Investing Philosophy, Chris has expertise in financial statement analysis, valuation and franchise analysis, competitive analysis and business model analysis. He has 3 years of experience in both distressed and normal equity and debt markets. He has collaborated on research projects for academic journals such as The Journal of Private Equity as well as Strategy and Leadership. He was also selected to archive the Ben Graham and Jerome Newman Partnership Materials at the Museum of American Finance and was the chief liaison between the Museum and the Warren Buffett biography team. Most recently, he was appointed Vice-Chair of the Value Investing Committee at the New York Society of Security Analysts and president of the Investment Club at the Ivey Business School, where he has organized events with representatives of both Fairfax Financial and Pershing Square Capital Management.
Gaurav Kumar Gupta
Gaurav worked as an IT Consultant for seven years with Tata Consultancy Services where he worked with fortune 500 clients within Financial Services industry. He led major projects, developed strategies and proposed actions to senior management and clients in Canada, Germany and India. His responsibilities included financial analysis, feasibility study and execution of consulting assignments. Gaurav holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University, Canada. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in India. He has acquired Six Sigma Green Belt and Project Management Professional (PMP) designations. He is currently pursuing CFA level 1.
Evan Huang
Prior to completing his MBA at Ivey, Evan Huang was a Senior Consultant for Enterprise Risk Services at Deloitte. Evan attained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2012 and developed expertise in risk analysis, financial statement analysis, valuations, and financial modeling during his time at Deloitte. Evan is one of the three MBA recipients for Stacey Muirhead award in 2013, demonstrating exceptional promise in understanding and applying value investing concepts and techniques. Evan speaks fluent Mandarin and recently taught at Jinan University in Guangzhou as part of an exchange program between Ivey and numerous Chinese universities.
Filippo Iuliani
Filippo is an Ivey Business School MBA’18 Grad and HBA’15 Grad. Filippo Iuliani currently works at FirePower Capital in their Private Capital team, supporting the evaluation of Private Debt/Private Equity deals. Prior to joining Firepower, he worked as an Associate at Scotia Wealth Management. Filippo is a CFA Level III Candidate.
Davit Kantola
Davit is a firm follower of Value Investing principles. He is pursuing his master’s degree in Finance at Aalto University’s School of Business in Helsinki, Finland. He received the highest grades (5/5) from his bachelor’s thesis on “Value and Profitability Premium in the Finnish Stock Market” at Aalto University. Side by side his bachelor’s studies, he worked part time as a Service and Compensation Advisor at Local Tapiola Insurance Company. As an exchange student, he attended Professor George Athanassakos’ course on Value Investing, and was awarded The Stacey Muirhead Capital Management Ltd. Prize. On top of enjoying to educate himself by reading everything even slightly related to investing, Davit is a defenseman for Helsinki Chiefs Lacrosse and has represented Team Finland in both European and World Games of Lacrosse (2012 and 2010). During summer 2015, Davit worked as an analyst intern at Nordea Markets Corporate Finance Advisory in Helsinki.
Jay Killoran
Jay is a graduate of the 2017 Ivey HBA program. He spent his Ivey summer internship at Fountain Asset Corporation, a merchant bank in Toronto that provides financing and advisory services to high growth companies throughout Canada and the United States. Jay is now an Ivey Lecturer for the Pre-Business 2257 course for second year Western students. Prior to joining Ivey, he achieved a Bachelor of Arts Honors Specialization in Kinesiology from Western University, class of 2015. Jay has been active in various extracurricular activities, including a Career Peer Mentor for Ivey HBA1 students, Epilepsy Support Centre volunteer, and softball coach for Special Olympics Ontario. Jay is interested in applying the principles of value investing to his own investing portfolio.
Richard Meng
Richard is a graduate of the Ivey HBA 2017 class. He holds a strong passion for finance, which is exemplified through his CFA Level II candidacy and his past experiences in Investment Banking and Portfolio Management. During his internship at Merger & Acquisition International Inc., he gained substantial capital market exposure through participating in a sale of Singapore Fintech company and helping two public companies finding potential acquisition targets in Europe. During his internship at TeemRise Securities Brokerage, he created portfolio reports and educated clients on market risks and investment techniques. He is also the founder of 57 Idea Consulting Group, and a certified Bloomberg and Capital IQ user with profound knowledge in financial modelling.
Rahim Murji
Rahim is a 2016 graduate of the MBA program. He became interested in the stock market at the bottom of the Dotcom Crash. He found it interesting to see companies that were once valued at hundreds of dollars a share eventually priced at only a fraction of that amount. As Rahim learned more about investing, he came across the teachings of Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett and he became enthralled with the value approach to investing. Rahim has a wide range of work experience, including Operational Risk Manager at one of Canada's largest investment fund managers and Team Lead of Investment Operations at an insurance organization. Rahim holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from the University of Alberta and is a CA and CFA charterholder.
Andrew Newton

Andrew graduated from the Ivey MBA Class of 2020 with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship as a member of the Dean’s Honour List. While at Ivey, he was a member of the LEADER Project, a Finance and Sustainability Case Writer, co-founded the MBA Social Impact & Sustainability Club and President of the MBA Pride Club. Prior to his MBA studies, Andrew worked in Toronto’s exciting Startup space for a CleanTech and a SaaS company. Today, he is studying for the CFA designation and is passionate about Finance, specifically Value Investing and Impact Investing. When not studying, Andrew is an avid runner and traveller, having placed 24th in the Lululemon Seawheeze half-marathon and travelling to new destinations to explore different parts of the world.
Eeshan Paranjape
Eeshan currently serves a strategy consultant in CIBC’s Retail Business and Banking Group. As a senior accountant at Ernst & Young in New York City, Eeshan worked as a consultant providing advice to clients on complex accounting issues. Prior to this role, Eeshan worked at Ernst & Young in Toronto performing audit engagements for clients in a variety of industries including asset management, banking, insurance, pharmaceuticals, and automotive. He is an avid reader, and works actively in his community, and places importance on constantly learning and facing new challenges. Eeshan holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University, a BBA from University of Toronto at Scarborough and is a CPA.
Alan Qian
Alan is a graduate of the HBA program at the Ivey Business School. He obtained internship positions at the Bank of China and China CITIC Bank, where he developed knowledge in Risk Management. He performed business and financial risk assessment on corporate clients and produced research reports for senior management. Alan is an active member of the Ivey community, serving as the VP Finance for the Ivey Entrepreneurship Club and involved in hosting the Scotiabank International Case Competition. He has developed a keen interest in value investing and determined to apply the value principles throughout his future career.
Tom Qiao
Tom is a 2016 graduate of the HBA & Economics dual-degree program offered jointly by Ivey Business School and Western University. He is currently completing a summer internship in risk management at CIBC. Previously, he has worked at RBC Financial Group in digital channel management where he helped improve the bank's digital strategy and operations. He also has experience working in the front-line as a teller for RBC Royal Bank. He has a keen interest in value investing and is currently pursuing CFA level 1.
Kay Schonberger
Kay has an HBA from Western University’s Ivey Business School as well as a Bachelor of Sciences (Dean’s Honor List) from Western’s Faculty of Science. Kay currently works with Great Circle Solar Management Corporation and is responsible there for evaluating business opportunities, engaging in counterparty dialogues as well as financial due diligence reviews and investor returns analysis. Before joining Great Circle Solar Management Corporation, Kay worked in Investment Banking at Macquarie Capital, Inc. in their San Francisco office. There she focused on government-assisted transactions, equity financings and M&A transactions. Prior to Macquaire, Kay worked in Investment Banking at Fox-Pitt, Kelton in Chicago and Credit Suisse in Los Angeles.
Matt Simsons
Matt is an HBA 2016 graduate of the Ivey School of Business. He is currently working as an Investment Banking Analyst for Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets, where he continues to explore his passion for finance. Previously, Matt also held a Strategist position in the Ivey Sales and Trading club, for which he provided market commentary and trade ideas to other members of the club.
Achilleas Taxildaris
Achilleas earned a BA in Economics from Democritus University of Thrace in Greece. After his graduation he fulfilled his one-year military obligations at the Hellenic Air force. Then he moved to Germany to work at Lingohr & Partner Asset Management GmbH in Düsseldorf for 2 years as an Assistant Portfolio Manager. Afterwards, having heard about the Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing, he decided to pursue an MBA at the Ivey Business School. He has been interested in Value Investing since 2005 and has read an extensive amount of related literature. His group won the FAIRFAX Financial Holdings award for their final project at the course of Value Investing. He is currently a CFA Level II candidate and speaks fluently Greek, English and German.
Adam Tremblay
Adam graduated from the Ivey HBA program in 2020 on the Dean’s Honours List. Prior to entering Ivey, he studied Business Administration at Wilfred Laurier University. He is interested in business transformation and strategy and has begun his career as an associate consultant at Capco. Adam continues to pursue his passion for investing with published articles and through his personal portfolio.
George Yuan
George graduated from the Ivey HBA program in 2018 and now works in corporate development. George’s interest for investing started with reading books on Warren Buffett and Seth Klarman. Outside of school and work, George enjoys cooking, hiking, and travelling.
Alan Zhu
Alan is graduate of the Ivey HBA Class of 2019. He has previously worked as a summer research analyst at long-short equity hedge fund Shanghai Milestone Asset Management. Alan looks forward to pursuing a career in equity research and looks forward to applying value investing principles he has learned as a student of Professor George Athanassakos.
