The election of a new federal government, major international negotiations in Paris, and the announcement of new provincial initiatives all at the end of 2015 have brought the issues of climate science and policy to the forefront again in Canada. Expert panelists, Gordon McBean and Radoslav Dimitrov, shared their perspectives from working inside the 2015 Paris Climate Change Meetings and UN climate policy institutions.

Gordon McBean
Dr. Gordon McBean is a climatologist who serves as chairman of the board of trustees of the Canadian Foundation for Climate and Atmospheric Sciences. He is a professor at the University of Western Ontario and Chair for Policy in the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction. Dr. McBean is a lead author and review editor for the IPCC, and was a member of the team that was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.
Radoslav Dimitrov
Dr. Dimitrov specializes in global environmental politics, international climate change negotiations, and UN diplomacy. He participates in UN climate change negotiations as a government delegate for the European Union (2009-present) and UN rapporteur (2004-2009). Most recently he took part in COP21, the 2015 Paris Climate Change Meetings, representing the Republic of Bulgaria. Dr. Dimitrov is a professor of Political Science at Western University.
