In the event that you make a mistake in editing a page, Umbraco has a useful feature called Rollback.
Each time an content editor Saves and Publishes a page, Umbraco takes a snapshot of the page and stores it online. This is a great feature because it creates a trail of the previous versions since the page was created. If you make a mistake and need to “Undo” or Rollback to a previous version of a page you can follow these steps.
- Right click the desired page or select the ellipsis tool to open the option menu.
- Select the Rollback option, which will open the Rollback Panel.
- Inside the panel, select the version you would like to rollback the page to using the dropdown menu "Rollback To".
- After selecting the desired version, Umbraco will load information describing the differences between the current version and the older version you would like to rollback to.
- If you are comfortable with the changes, select Rollback and Umbraco will Save and Publish the older version of the page.
The Rollback page will now be visible on the live website.
