Professor Alison Konrad welcomes Captain Braatz (Station 9, London Fire Department) to speak to 610 HBA1 students.
Captain Braatz will be speaking about teamwork in a dynamic environment. Captain Braatz views the business environment as relatively static compared to the emergency incidents handled by his team. The London Fire Department handles multiple disciplines, including fire, automobile accidents, water rescue, chemical hazards, and medical emergency response. Team members need to know how to handle a wide variety of situations in a well-coordinated manner. Captain Braatz will be discussing the teamwork tools utilized in Basic Incident Command to maintain coordination under stressful conditions that can change quickly.
