We The Owners

An Award-winning Film on Shared Ownership and Entrepreneurship.

Synopsis: We the Owners is a documentary about three "best places to work" companies that make shared ownership and social impact a significant part of their strategy. Employee-owners and founders from New Belgium Brewing, Namasté Solar, and DPR Construction share their stories of founding companies, expanding locations, preparing for succession, hiring during rapid growth, and addressing layoffs. These real-world stories provide viewers with a "What If…" more employees were owners and empowered as owners. Each company in the film uses a different model of employee-ownership (e.g. ESOP, stock/stock options, cooperatives), but all emphasize an ownership culture. Many individuals in North America struggle with opportunity and economic prosperity. Can employee ownership bring the inspiration in a time when responsible business solutions are sought in North America and the world?
