Sonja Bruschetto

Sonja is a research assistant at the Ian O. Ihnatowycz Institute for Leadership at Ivey Business School and holds a Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation from the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL). With a master's degree in applied health sciences and a background in psychology, her research focuses on mindfulness, character development, leadership, and resilience-building, particularly in high-stress environments. She is also involved in the development and implementation of preventive interventions and health promotion strategies.

As a certified facilitator of the Mindfulness-Based Strengths Program (MBSP), Sonja integrates mindfulness practices with the cultivation of personal strengths and leader character development. She has facilitated workshops and training sessions for individuals, professionals, and emerging leaders, guiding them in enhancing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and character development. Sonja’s mindfulness expertise was honed through studies at the University of Toronto, and she has also completed applied clinical research training at McMaster University. Additionally, she is a trained meditation teacher and positive psychology practitioner, empowering individuals to cultivate well-being in personal and professional settings.

In previous roles, Sonja gained valuable experience in both the private and public sectors. She worked as a Tax Process Specialist at PwC and served as a Planning and Project Coordination Officer at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), where she developed a strong understanding of organizational dynamics and leadership challenges.

Sonja is dedicated to bridging research and practice to enhance well-being, strengthen leader character, and promote health within organizations. Her diverse experience and commitment to evidence-based approaches position her to make a meaningful impact in organizations and advocate for health promotion.
