They tell us that every MBA class has its own distinct personality, and I don’t doubt this is true for the Class of 2012. Even our two different sections have been branded New York and Vancouver by some faculty. Our study rooms at Spencer are filled with as diverse and accomplished a class as there ever has been. We have ER doctors, freshly-minted PhDs, lawyers, traders, a merchant navy captain and a pilot. We’ve collectively travelled the globe, coached winning teams, started businesses and built brands.
Since coming to London and walking through the doors at Spencer, we’ve wasted little time getting our ideas, goals and priorities for the year in order. Nearly one quarter into our one year MBA, we have Clubs established, robust Sports teams trained, an MBA Association elected, and countless stories to tell!
We’ve entered a world where three-letter acronyms like DMA strike fear and deference into our minds, while others like NVP invoke inspiration and optimism.
It’s a world that seems to fly by at warp-speed, yet where some case readings never quite seem to end quickly enough.
We’ve done so much in our first months at Ivey, but there are countless cases, simulations, events and trips to go (not to mention reports and exams). This was only the beginning and the best is yet to come. We look forward to sharing our experiences and insights throughout the year, on this blog, and on Twitter (@iveymbastudents).
