Professor Tima Bansal, Associate Professor Michael King, and Professor Gerard Seijts joined forces to examine the scandal surrounding Volkswagen after the automaker admitted to rigging its diesel engines to cheat on emissions tests.

In their op-ed for The Globe and Mail, Bansal, King, and Seijts analyzed the impact of Volkswagen’s detrimental actions from a sustainable, financial, and leadership perspective.

“Finance and sustainability are not incompatible, they are aligned. Business leaders need to focus not only on shareholders but also on society and the planet. This alignment will ensure that our economy is balanced, healthy, and sustainable for the long term,” they said.
