In a new blog written for Ivey Executive Education, faculty members Paul Kinsinger and Andreas Schotter write about January 29, 2018: the day the term "disruption" became mainstream in the business world. On this day, Berkshire Hathaway, JPMorgan Chase, and Amazon announced they would come together to "disrupt" the healthcare industry.
In the blog, the authors discuss what that means and provide lessons for organizations facing disruption.
"Learning how to (1) avoid disruption happening to you, and (2) how to be part of making it happen to others, would seem to be even more of an imperative," they write. "For most executives, it’s the only sensitive – or even smart way – forward."
