Panel Event on Aboriginal Relations and Energy Sector Development

September 30, 2014

The Ivey Energy and Resources Club, and the Ivey Energy Policy and Management Centre, will host an expert panel discussion on Aboriginal Relations and Energy Sector Development at the Ivey Business School, from 12.50 to 3.00pm in the BMO Auditorium (with a pause at 2.00pm for students who need to attend a class). Panellists include:

Associate Deputy Minister Michael Keenan

Michael Keenan was appointed Associate Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Canada on January 14, 2013. He has extensive experience in economic analysis and policy development in the Government of Canada. He comes to Natural Resources Canada from Environment Canada, where he served as the Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy, since 2009.

Chief Vern Janvier

Chief Vern Janvier has been leading Chipewyan Prairie Dene First Nation in Alberta since 2007. He worked in the oil and gas industry for many years before starting his own oilfield service business in the late 1990s.

Kendall Dilling

Mr. Dilling is Vice-President, Environmental and Regulatory Affairs at Cenovus Energy. He has more than 20 years of progressive technical and management experience in the oil and gas industry.

Bill Gallagher

Mr. Gallagher is a strategist, lawyer and facilitator with 30 years’ experience on resource management issues and project launches. He is the author of Resource Rulers: Fortune and Folly on Canada’s Road to Resources.
