Is Hong Kong's status as a financial hub receding? Professor Andreas Schotter spoke with BNN about the protests in Hong Kong and what the movement means for the business community. Schotter explained that student protesters were demanding for a more open list of candidates for the future Chief Executive of Hong Kong, and spoke about the bigger picture on business in China.
"In China, there is a general movement towards democracy. Now, we don't think it's going fast enough, and I tend to agree from a Western perspective, but when you look at it from a Chinese perspective, there are huge social issues, environmental issues still that need to be overcome and this goes hand in hand."
