Canada’s federal government is moving towards liberating strict laws on the distribution and use of marijuana, which may boost the economy.
Professor David Sparling, Chair of Agri-Food Innovation and Regulation at Ivey, spoke with CBC News about the international opportunity and explosive industry growth that marijuana legalization represents for Canada.
"We are sitting in a place where we actually can be a leading supplier, if we act quickly," said Sparling.
He noted that to ensure a successful recreational marijuana industry, time needs to be allotted for experimenting with the creation of good product by importing the best genetics from around the world.
