Ivey Associate Professor and Western Engineering faculty member Darren Meister spoke with The Globe and Mail about a new academic collaboration between Western’s engineering faculty and Ivey.
Meister noted the advantage of business and engineering students collaborating in the classroom.
“They see problems from radically different perspectives,” he said, pointing out that engineers are focused on design issues and business students look at innovation in the marketplace.
As the inaugural holder of the John M. Thompson Chair in Engineering Leadership as of last year, Meister works to develop the connection between engineering and business.
