The team-building trend of escape rooms has emerged as a popular activity for companies looking for a unique, adventurous, collaborative experience. Team-building fads are nothing new to the corporate world, but we need to look beyond the activity itself.
Profit Magazine spoke with Professor Gerard Seijts about such team-building activities. Seijts pointed out that the activity doesn’t matter as much as the follow-up reflection on your experience as a team.
“The key issue that organizations must ask themselves is, how can we take the insights that we gained from this exercise and apply them to actual on-the-job performance?” said Seijts “There needs to be incredible follow-up.”
