The financial services industry is experiencing unprecedented change. While technological advances are re-shaping banking as we know it, business education needs to keep up. Ivey is staying ahead of the curve by embracing the current fintech revolution.

Finance professor Michael King, Co-director of the Scotiabank Digital Banking Lab, sat down with The Globe and Mail to explain how the School is giving students a platform for engaging with fintech through organized activities such as hackathons, case competitions and guest speakers.

"We are focused on disrupting the traditional model of education and classroom teaching," said King. "Rather than scheduling courses and holding exams, we are bringing fintech into all aspects of the student experience."

King goes on to explain how Ivey has launched a two-fintech primer course for senior executives and is currently developing a standalone fintech elective for next year.
