#BoycottSearsCanada: Canadians turn against iconic retailer

Sears Canada has announced it will close 59 of its 255 stores and subsequently lay off 2,900 workers. Not a single one will get severance; however, a number of executives and senior managers will receive bonuses.

As a result, Canadians are calling for a boycott of the retailer.

Ivey Professor June Cotte addresses the public relations crisis, saying Canadians who grew up with the department store chain feel a connection to the brand, and are upset with the way it’s handling the closures.
