Ivey Dean Bob Kennedy gives advice for riding the next wave of globalization

May 6, 2014

Bob Kennedy

LONDON, ON, May 6, 2014 – For two decades the offshoring of manufacturing dominated the global economic landscape. Today, the offshoring of services, such as financial or information technologies, is driving an even more profound transformation in the way we think about the economy.

That’s why businesses need to think about the opportunities beyond their country’s boundaries.

At an event at Ivey Business School on May 8 called Services Shift: The Next Wave of Globalization, Ivey Dean Bob Kennedy will explain why the offshoring of services is more than moving call centres and basic business processes to another part of the world. It is a fundamental reorganization of work, giving companies access to the best combination of talent, resources, and local markets.

He’ll draw on research from his book, The Services Shift: Seizing the Ultimate Offshore Opportunity, which details how high-skilled services are joining the migration offshore.
