5. A school-wide celebration for Mr. Ivey’s 90th birthday
October 26 marked Richard M. Ivey’s 90th birthday. To celebrate this milestone, the Ivey community came together with classmates and colleagues to enjoy celebratory treats – and lots of them!
At age 25 and just one year out of school, John Chayka, HBA ’14, took on the role of Assistant General Manager/Analytics for the Arizona Coyotes. In his new position, Chayka assists in the team’s overall strategic vision, while emphasizing how data analytics has an impact on decision-making and player evaluation.
3. HBA and MBA students meet the “Oracle of Omaha”
Twenty of our HBA and MBA students travelled to Omaha, Nebraska, to meet Warren Buffett, one of the best-known investors and richest people in the world. Buffett shared some valuable life lessons with the group about investing, trust, and the meaning of life.
2. Ivey hits the sweet spot with recruiters
Bloomberg Businessweek released data and insights on 122 top global business schools on how they prepare MBA students to deliver the skills that employers want.
Ivey was ranked first in leadership skills, strategic thinking, collaboration, and communications skills – among the most-wanted and hardest-to-find skills sought after by recruiters.
1. Ivey tops Bloomberg MBA ranking
For the second year in a row, Ivey was named the top-ranked international (non-U.S.) MBA program by Bloomberg Businessweek. The results were based on five ranking categories and criteria: employer survey, alumni survey, student survey, placement rate rank, and salary rank.
Ivey performed well across all five categories, ranking first overall in recruiter satisfaction.
