Ivey staff and faculty traded in their papers and pens for helmets and harnesses as they rappelled down the London City Centre Towers for the Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope.
Ivey’s Team CommunityShift™ – made up of Ann Frost, Mary Gillett, Heather Hitchcock, Tony Frost, Mary Weil, and Gerard Seijts – participated in the one-day fundraising event to raise money for Make-A-Wish. The team raised $11,812 for the organization, contributing to the event’s grand total of $1,079,512 raised across the country.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children living with life-threatening medical conditions. The organization’s goal is to grant the wish of every eligible child across Canada.
Rope for Hope symbolizes the fear, anxiety, and adversity faced by the children, their parents, and their siblings. To raise money, teams had to face their own fears by rappelling down towering skyscrapers, such as the London City Centre Towers.
