When Andrew Scarffe, a research associate at the Ivey International Centre for Health Innovation, read articles condemning international agreements between Ontario Academic Health Science Centres and foreign governments, he was so intrigued he decided to focus his research on the topic.
In the latest Annual Impact, a report to annual donors of Western University, Scarffe, BHSc’13 and MSc’16, discusses his research and the doors Western opened for him.
“I gave a keynote [in Beijing] on the relationship and parallels between health care and education," Scarffe said. "Without my experience at Ivey and having my master’s degree, I wouldn’t have been in a position to confidently make those connections. They all build on a plethora of opportunities and experiences I’ve had as a result of attending Western.”
