Ian Dunn, HBA ’07, MBA ’15, a Business Foundations lecturer and Co-Director of the Business Foundations Program, placed 19th on The Case Centre's Top 40 Bestselling Case Authors list for the 2019/20 academic year. The annual list recognizes cases that sell the most copies during the previous academic year. This year's authors represent 18 schools, from 10 countries, across three continents.
Dunn’s case writing primarily focuses on financial and managerial accounting topics. He has also played an integral role in Ivey’s efforts to introduce the case study method to secondary school business students.
The most beneficial part of the case study method is that students are learning so much more than just the functional topic they believe they are studying. While students are busy learning how to apply accounting principles to a specific decision, they are really mastering their communication and problem-solving skills. I firmly believe that it is those skills that set them apart in their future careers, whether it be in business or elsewhere.”
