New digital hub offers leaders relevant and actionable insights on today’s most critical issues
In a strategic leap forward, the Ivey Business School announces the launch of its new digital hub for faculty research and thought leadership, Impact. Encompassing cutting-edge knowledge, groundbreaking research, and pioneering insights from Ivey, Impact has been intentionally designed for leaders seeking relevant information and actionable insights on critical issues.
"With the launch of this innovative platform, we take a significant step forward in advancing Ivey's mission and amplifying our world-class research," said Ivey's Dean, Sharon Hodgson. "Impact is more than a website; it exemplifies Ivey's commitment to confronting critical issues, challenging perspectives, and contributing to a sustainable and prosperous future."
Impact was born out of the visionary blueprint outlined in the School's 2022 Strategic Plan: Ivey Next. As Ivey contemplated the role of business schools in shaping a brighter future, it embarked on a journey to reimagine its purpose. This introspection resulted in the formulation of a compelling renewed mission: to develop leaders who think globally, act strategically, and address critical issues facing organizations and society, through impactful research and transformative learning experiences.
“Guided by research and industry insights, we strategically identified three critical issues to channel our efforts: sustainability, Canada's place in the world, and the evolution of work. These pivotal areas are front of mind for boards, CEOs, entrepreneurs, government, and community leaders, while showcasing the exceptional expertise of our faculty,” said Hodgson.
Designed with a keen focus on the user experience, Impact integrates a streamlined design and clear navigation to deliver audiences an accessible collection of Ivey’s latest research and insights on critical issues – and how that applies to firms, communities, and to Ivey’s student experience. To meet the needs and viewing preferences of its audience, the content is presented in a variety of ways, including articles, opinion pieces, videos, webinars, podcasts, and white papers on current issues, including:
- The Character Compass: Why character is the missing piece for sustained excellence;
- Is investing in regenerative agriculture the key to Canada’s sustainable future?;
- Report points to tangible actions aimed at tackling corporate greenwashing;
- From Roadblocks to Roadmaps: Diving into Canada’s EV readiness;
- The Spillover Effect: Workplace Benefits of Hiring Neurodiverse Talent;
- Tearing down the window dressing: how firms can effectively increase female representation; and
- Can Canada’s health care system chart a new path forward?
Robert Klassen, Associate Dean of Research at Ivey, is excited to see the launch of Impact, with the emphasis on, "ideas igniting change." "Our world is rapidly transforming, and firms face complex challenges that demand practical solutions and future-oriented insights,” he said. “With Impact, leaders everywhere can tap into targeted, top-tier research from Ivey’s faculty, empowering their ability to make informed decisions today, while laying a foundation for the uncertainties of tomorrow."
