Celebrating Ivey’s Class of 2024

The Ivey community, along with friends and family, came together this week to celebrate the inspiring achievements of the class of 2024 as 1,034 graduates received their degrees at one of three separate convocation ceremonies.

Festivities began on June 19 as Ivey’s 146 MBA, 185 MSc, 58 EMBA, 53 AMBA, and two PhD graduates crossed the stage at Western University’s Alumni Hall and received their diplomas. During the ceremony, they heard an address by John Barford, a Western graduate and president of Valleydene Corporation, who received an honorary degree at the event. The groups later moved on to the Richard Ivey Building to participate in program-specific award and Ivey Pledge ceremonies. The award ceremonies included addresses from representatives of Ivey’s Dean’s Office, and the class valedictorians: Kurtis Aleksandre (MBA), Pashv Shah (AMBA), and Oliver Yuzpe (MSc).

Ivey’s HBA graduates were then honoured at two separate ceremonies at Alumni Hall: one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with Kyle MacDonald, HBA ’82, founder of Phoenix Interactive Design Inc., receiving an honorary degree at the morning event. The total group included 590 graduates. That afternoon, they participated in the HBA Award & Pledge Ceremonies where they were addressed by Ivey Dean Sharon Hodgson and valedictorian Katie McCarter.
