Honouring the Ivey community’s impact on National Philanthropy Day

Nov 15, 2024

November 15 marks National Philanthropy Day, a special day that provides the opportunity to recognize the many ways philanthropy impacts communities around the world.

Here at Ivey, we’re honouring the incredible generosity of our alumni, donors, volunteers, and partners across Canada and beyond. We are gratefully acknowledging the vital contributions our community members make to strengthen Ivey Business School. The ongoing support and dedication of our community significantly impact all areas of the School’s operations, from student scholarships that make an Ivey education accessible to more students to world-class research that addresses the critical issues facing business and society.

To celebrate National Philanthropy Day, we asked students from across Ivey programs to share what philanthropy means to them and how philanthropic support has impacted their Ivey Experience.

Here’s what they had to say:

For me, it's not just about the financial assistance. It's about having that encouragement and support from the entire Ivey community which has instilled a motivation for me to really push myself in this program and fully experience Ivey for what it is.”
– Josee Morell, MBA ’24
I'm really motivated to contribute to a network that has never failed to show up for me knowing I have the opportunity to touch the lives of many around me and bring that Ivey experience forward into the world.”
– Alice Peng, HBA ’25 candidate
I benefited from a full tuition scholarship which allowed me to be here at Ivey and surrounded by my supportive classmates. I see the long-term impact of the program, not only for my personal and professional development, but also for the impact I can make using the knowledge that I gained in Ivey.”
–Mariya Tsybulnyk, MBA ’24
I would say that [philanthropy] has changed my life and my career in a way that I would probably not be able to explain to someone in just simple words. But, trying to do that, I would say that it made my dream possible.”
–Arthur Bronzim, MBA ’24
