Three Ivey alumni are among the inspiring young London, Ont. professionals on London Inc. Magazine’s latest 20 Under 40 list.
Sarhan Abu-Kwiek, HBA ’10; Andrew Coates, HBA ’07; and Jane Scholes, HBA ’15 made the annual list of leaders and changemakers who are making a difference in their organizations and the community. They are featured in this month’s edition of the magazine and will be celebrated at a gala later this month.

Sarhan Abu-Kwiek’s path to success hasn’t been easy, but resilience, hard work, and leaning on others have been a key part of his journey, which includes immigrating to Canada at 14 to now managing London’s largest civil construction company. As Vice-President of J-AAR, he leads 230 team members and drives the company’s strategic growth, operational excellence, and high-quality solutions that help shape our communities.

Andrew Coates, HBA ’07
Partner, EY LLP
In addition to striving for excellence himself, Andrew Coates helps others to build their success. Coates mentors junior colleagues at EY London as well as Ivey students as a part-time lecturer in Managerial Accounting and Control. Coates joined EY after graduating from Ivey and became partner at age 36. In this role, he helps clients meet compliance obligations and connects them with experts in tax, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and cybersecurity.

Jane Scholes, HBA ’15
Partner, Lerners LLP
An expert in dispute resolution and advocacy as well as health law, Jane Scholes has appeared as legal counsel at all levels of court in Ontario, specialized tribunals, and the Supreme Court of Canada. She also supports various educational initiatives in London, Ont., especially those focused on advancing women. She serves as an inspiring role model for women, having built a thriving law practice while also building her family.
