I am a sustainability advocate who gained organizing and nonprofit experience by leading climate strikes in Vancouver, organizing local sustainability conferences, and connecting with communities of passionate changemakers any place I go.

What is your personal definition of sustainability?

I define sustainability as creating a world where all people can live, thrive, and have equal opportunities to find joy and success alongside community. I see my role as doing what I can to create and work towards a future where all people can achieve that state of wellbeing

What role do you see sustainability playing in your professional career?

Sustainability is a driving force in my career motivations and has been a common theme in the decisions I’ve made about past work experiences/opportunities. In the past, I worked at non-profits and in the policy/advocacy space, before developing an interest in start-ups and the business side of sustainability. I am currently exploring my interest in social finance and impact investing.

What sustainability projects have you been engaged in?

I work at the BSV as a special projects intern and am also part of the Ivey Social Impact Club. I’m working on a food justice project on campus to bring free food boxes to residents in London. In the past, I’ve started youth climate action advocacy organizations and led climate strikes in my communities, influencing policy change and creating pathways for young people to be politically involved in decision making in our communities. I’ve worked at non-profits like the David Suzuki Foundation, where I led training programs for new community advocates and supported national communications strategies.

Please list any sustainability-related interests you want to explore during the certificate.

I’d like to delve deeper into food systems and food justice, in Canada and around the world. Before Ivey, I studied global development, so I also have a deep interest in global sustainable development and international connectivity. I am also curious about social finance, renewable energy, walkable cities, urban planning, and transportation.
