About the Workshop

August 19 - 23, 2024

Monday - Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM

The Ivey Business School will host its first five-day workshop on Reconciling Business Schools this August. The workshop will be co-taught by Indigenous scholars, Indigenous community leaders, and Western business school scholars. It will facilitate discussions and exercises, weaving Indigenous and Western worldviews, to arrive at practice-oriented pathways to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. For example, to advance Calls to Action 62 and 63, we will discuss building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect. To advance Call to Action 92, we will discuss how the corporate sector in Canada can engage in economic reconciliation and support Indigenous leadership. The workshop will also include sessions on land-based learning, Indigenous entrepreneurship, Indigenous-led finance, and governance.
