The last three days here in Koforidua have been amazing. Making our way out of Accra on Monday, we drove about two hours into the city of Koforidua in the Eastern Region province, where we have established our home for the next month.

Over the last few days, our team have met much of the ANU staff and faculty who have all given us incredibly warm welcomes. We currently stay at a retreat centre owned by the university, which is adjacent to a new campus they are currently constructing.

Thus far, we have spent most of our time getting oriented with the city. The staff at ANU has taken much of their own time to show us parts of town, including the local bar where we were able to catch a couple evening football games alongside locals from the community. We have also tried some of the Ghanian cuisine, which features a healthy diet of plantains, rice, and chilies.

We hope that in the next couple of days we will be able to reach out to some of the local businesses; we are all very interested in getting to know the economic environment in this community. We also plan to explore the surrounding regions, possibly venturing out to the Cape Coast on Saturday.
