Our journey to Eldoret, Kenya has been a very eventful one. Our first adventure began when we flew Qatar Airlines from Philly to Doha. Not only was the service great, we also had a chance to catch up on some much-needed sleep as the plane was mostly empty.
At Nairobi, we met Cornelius, our Moi University contact, who took us to the YMCA to stay overnight. Who would have thought that the YMCA would be in Kenya right?
The next day marked our 6 hour drive to Eldoret. Along the way, we saw zebras, antelopes, boars, and drive past the equator. Cornelius was a great host who shows us the countryside and told us many jokes. We also drove past Rift Valley, which is where some of the greatest Kenyan runners come to train.
As a result of our jetlag, we got up early the next day to watch the sunrise. It was a magical experience!
