John F. Wood Summer Leadership Program

The John F. Wood Summer Leadership Program provides students with a unique opportunity to develop their leadership skills, get a glimpse of the Ivey student experience, and gain insights into critical issues such as Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Global Citizenship.

The 2023 cohort were tasked with a final project showcase, where student teams were assigned a UN Sustainable Development Goal and worked together to prepare a poster board to convey how they will work towards achieving their goal in the context of a Canadian city or town.  Read the Ivey News article here.

In summer 2024 the program offered the Ivey JFW SLS, an immersive one-day symposium designed to provide high school students with a unique opportunity to develop their leadership skills and engage in experiential learning. Through a focus on business and leadership, participants explored essential competencies such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, public speaking, and team management. Additionally, students gained valuable insight into successful pathways to post-secondary education, including the opportunity to experience the prestigious Ivey case method.

Ivey Community Engagement Club

Ivey Community Engagement Club (ICEC) engages Ivey students and faculty with youth across London who do not traditionally consider a business education by teaching business concepts through Ivey’s case method. Collaborating with Ivey faculty to develop a full-year curriculum, Ivey HBA student instructors travel to local schools monthly to explore diverse Ivey case problems with high-school students.

In its inaugural year, the school has partnered with 4 high schools and over 80 students, teaching topics including accounting, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and leadership.  Read the Ivey News article here.
