On October 6th, the Ivey Fintech Club proudly launched the 2024/2025 Ivey Fintech Pro-Bono Consulting Program, bringing together six fintech companies with top-performing students to tackle complex challenges in the industry. This year’s cohort includes Pine, Super.com, Vault, Asset Direct, Loop, and Freshbooks. These clients operate across sectors such as personal finance, financial rewards, and global banking, offering students valuable exposure to diverse real-world fintech issues. Their valuations range from $50 million to over $1 billion USD, allowing students to experience consulting at start-ups as well as medium-sized enterprises.
The consulting program began with a detailed overview of global fintech trends, funding insights, and an analysis of current economic conditions. Students received practical training on market sizing methodologies and project scoping — essential skills for managing their projects successfully.
This program aims to develop interest in the Fintech space at Ivey by exposing them to the problems top Fintech firms are trying to fix. This year’s cohort of student analysts will continue to learn throughout the year through further training sessions on Zoom, case studies, mock consulting interviews, and private speaker/networking events through the Ivey Fintech Club. The club is dedicated to providing students with practical, hands-on experience in FinTech consulting and is eager to see the innovative solutions they will create in the months ahead.
Following the training sessions, students and team leaders had the opportunity to network building relationships that will support their collaborative efforts throughout the program.
The Ivey Fintech Pro-Bono Consulting Program continues to be a pivotal initiative in shaping the future of fintech consulting at Ivey. Special thanks to Consulting Power Duo, Ariba Akhtar and Steven Nguyen, for their leadership in bringing this event to life.
